The venue

Hunton Park Hotel is set within 22 acres of stunning grounds and rolling countryside. The venue’s natural setting is a key element in the creation of this look. The building itself is a classic Georgian property, with light and airy spaces, high ceilings and a marvellous conservatory with a plethora of natural light to elevate this editorial.

The colour palette

Choosing a colour palette is one of the first and most defining choices in wedding planning. It will determine the overall look and style of a wedding and it’s important that this harmonises with the venue.

The colour palette for this shoot combines rich raspberry with soft blush lifted by neutral ivories, softening the overall palette. Classic gold accents are present throughout the stationery, desserts, accessories and tableware creating consistency and cohesion.

Using bold colours empowers individuality to a wedding and allows you to enhance the venue’s natural setting and architecture. It’s important to apply bold colours in a considered approach. Pairing bolder colours with neutral tones lifts the overall design to create a more timeless feel.

The florals

It was essential that we incorporated inspiring and lavishly abundant floral arrangements to compliment the venue’s acres of beautiful gardens. We focused on a neutral colour palette with bright pops of colour throughout the floral design, adding depth and interest.

Our florist, Kate of Kate Wren Flowers originated from Zimbabwe. Her style is colourful and bold, inspired by her childhood spent in her garden, which evidently radiates throughout her floral design and styling. The flowers were designed using sustainable methods without the use of floral foam. A wooden pole and chicken wire provided the base of the floral columns. They were then individually filled one stem at a time to create the exquisitely bountiful ceremony set up, which can later be re-used in a dinner setting.

The details

Incorporating lots of feminine and luxurious details was essential in creating a romantic feel. Intricately detailed stationery, beautifully hand dyed silk ribbons, delicate fabric menus, exquisitely handmade accessories combined with soft flowing lines, an awe-inspiring 6 tier cake with meticulous gold detailing and precision, a variety of textures throughout every element of the overall look creates a harmony of delicate details with soft, elegant charm.

Three tips for creating this look

  1. Incorporating the elements of your setting is imperative to create cohesion throughout wedding styling. A natural, light-filled venue to accommodate your wedding breakfast with neutral walls and furniture is important. This is in order not to cause conflict with rich hues present throughout your styling. Natural daylight enhances the mixture of tones and textures to create a more aesthetically pleasing dinner setting for your guests.
  2. Experiment with a variety of textures and heights to create depth and body. This can also echo the natural flow of a gracious garden boasting a variation of charming trees, plants and florals to create a consistent soft garden romance style.
  3. Be consistent with your style choice and don’t dismiss the small details to draw your look together. Gold accents, consistency of floral designs throughout the day and all the bespoke details create cohesion and overall sophistication.
