What a fun and memorable way to have your engagement or pre-wedding session in a beautiful destination. You’ll cherish these photos for the rest of your life, so why not visit somewhere new or travel back to your favourite holiday destination with your wedding photographer?

I love nothing more than spending time with my clients and capturing beautiful memories, but what a joy it is to photograph couples in such beautiful locations. As I’m sure you know, I love everything about destination weddings, travelling and exploring new places. One of my favourite aspects being the beautiful backdrops, incredible sunsets and different lighting opportunities.

As a destination wedding photographer, I feel very lucky to have travelled to lots of new places, many of which have been on my bucket list for years. So far, my wedding photography has taken me to Santorini, Cyprus, Italy, Bali, Jamaica, Barbados and many more dreamy locations for which I’m extremely grateful to my couples for entrusting me and bringing me along to capture their special day.

Location
Location, location, location. The most important element of planning your destination wedding photoshoot. We all have a favourite place in the world, or somewhere we would love to return to. Sometimes it’s not always feasible or possible to host your destination wedding in your favourite place, so why not revisit and capture once-in-a-lifetime memories? Your favourite place in the world might be too far for your wedding guests to travel, too expensive, or just not the right location for your wedding. Think about what kind of place you want to host your engagement shoot. A number of questions spring to mind. What time of day is best to visit? (I would always vote for golden hour!!) How typically busy is it? Are there any photography restrictions?

As part of your consultation with Natalie Stevenson Photography, we will discuss all the important aspects and work together to get the most out of your engagement shoot.

Dress accordingly! I love when my couples have a couple outfit choices. Pretty summery dresses are perfect for beach locations or shoots in the Italian countryside. Whereas, a more formal and smart outfit is a perfect fit for any city locations. But remember to be yourself, and true to who you are as a couple.

Work together with your destination photographer to create new and inspiring ideas for your photoshoot. Feel free to browse Pinterest and Instagram and save any photos you feel inspired by. These could be locations, beautiful outfits or just photos of all the pretty details. And remember to trust your photographers creativity, you’ve booked them as you love their style, so they will know what will work best to create these all important memories in this style, so go with it and let them work their magic!
